Citizenship from Settled Status from EU Settlement Scheme

The EU Settled Status Scheme is the UK’s new immigration status under the Immigration Rules for EU citizens and their family members following Brexit.

Under the Scheme, EU nationals who started living in the UK for five years
continuously before 31 December 2020 are able to apply for settled status upon completing five years’ continuous residence. Settled status allows you
to remain living and working in the UK indefinitely.
It also allows you to remain outside the UK for up to five years continuously without affecting this status. If you spend longer than five years continuously outside the UK you will lose your settled status.

You can apply to naturalise one year after obtaining settled status if you do not already hold a valid permanent residence document.
However, if you are a British citizen you cannot apply for settled status even if you are a dual citizen, eg a dual British and Italian citizen.

Settled status is not necessary for an application to naturalise as a British citizen if you already have a valid permanent residence document and you are applying before the deadline of 30 June 2021 or 31 December 2020 (as the case may be).

A team of specialised persons work tirelessly to keep themselves updated with the day-to-day policies & procedures to provide you with the precise information you require. Looking forward to be at your service soon.
